Charge-M8 EV Kube

The Modular Ground-Anchor Foundation for Faster, Cost-Effective EV Charger Installation

What is EV Kube?

The Charge-M8 EV Kube is a modular ground-anchor foundation designed to speed up installations and cut civils cost.
It provides a stable, repeatable base for pedestals and chargers, reduces wet-pour concrete on site, and simplifies future maintenance or upgrades.

Kube Flow installation process

Courier-friendly delivery

EV Kube's flat-pack design means every model, including the largest 600 × 600mm unit, ships as just 3 to 5 lightweight packages by standard courier rather than on a pallet network. This removes the need for pallet-handling equipment on site, cuts transport costs compared with pre-cast concrete, and means components can be carried straight to the trench without a crane or forklift.

Each panel is less than 18kg

Even the largest Charge-M8 EV Kube panel weighs less than 18kg, comfortably within the 20kg guidance in the UK manual handling regulations. Every individual component across all three sizes (Small 300×300, Medium 600×300, Large 600×600) weighs under 20kg, so parts can be carried and positioned by hand without lifting gear, reducing manual handling risk on site.

One-person installation

All Charge-M8 EV Kube models are designed for single-person assembly, based on in-trench assembly as set out in the installation manual: the four side panels lean against the excavation walls, are bolted together at their mitred edges with M10 stainless bolts, and the cover is secured with M12 Torx55 security pin bolts, all using a standard hex key with no specialist tools required. Site-specific factors such as access, terrain, or health and safety considerations may call for additional personnel.

Central cable knock-out opening

A pre-marked 50mm knock-out panel on the top cover, plus integrated cut-outs on the side panels, give installers a clean, pre-formed cable entry and exit point that comfortably accommodates a 117mm cable conduit. Sections are simply cut out on site with a suitable saw, and because the composite contains no metal reinforcement, the cover can also be drilled to fix mounting posts directly, using a standard or composite-rated drill bit.

Same-day deployment with immediate use

Because there's no wet-pour concrete to mix or cure, the full sequence of excavation, assembling the panels in the trench, backfilling with the appropriate material (concrete, Postcrete & MOT1 mix, or MOT1 alone), and bringing the unit level with the finished ground can typically be completed and put into use within a single site visit, with no return trip needed once concrete has cured.

Recyclable and sustainable materials

EV Kube is built from Bulk Moulding Compound (BMC) side panels and a Dough Moulding Compound (DMC) cover, both of which can be mechanically recycled since the unit contains no internal steel reinforcement. Recovered material can be reused as filler in new composite products or as fuel in cement kilns, and up to 15% recycled content can already be reintroduced into manufacturing without compromising strength. Charge-M8 also runs a return-to-depot recycling scheme for end-of-life units.

Environmentally friendly ESG aligned materials

Around 66% of EV Kube's raw materials are inorganic, locally sourced, and non-scarce, reducing reliance on crude oil, and some resin content is now replaced with biobased alternatives without compromising physical performance. Combined with the composite's corrosion resistance, freedom from leaching or degradation, and the reduced carbon footprint of avoiding wet-pour concrete, this supports organisations' ESG and circular-economy objectives.

FAQs

Every EV Kube size has been tested to meet the A15 loading classification and is capable of supporting continuous loads of up to 1,500kg, with a peak test load of 2,250kg.

EV Kube carries a 3-year manufacturer's warranty against manufacturing defects and has an expected service life of more than 10 years, based on a material system with an established track record in outdoor electrical and infrastructure applications.

Yes. All EV Kube models are designed so individual components weigh less than 20kg, allowing single-person assembly in accordance with the Charge-M8 installation methodology, subject to a site-specific risk assessment.

Yes. The composite construction is inherently non-conductive and provides excellent electrical insulation. BMC and DMC composites have long been used in electrical cabinets and utility enclosures for their dielectric performance and durability.

Yes. Both the BMC and DMC components can be mechanically recycled through established composite recycling processes, as EV Kube uses no internal steel reinforcement. Recovered material can be reused as filler in new composite products or processed as fuel in cement kilns, and the stainless-steel fixings are recyclable where facilities exist.
