The Next Generation of EV Charger Foundations

Solving an overlooked challenge in EV charging

As the UK continues to expand its EV charging network, much of the industry's attention has focused on chargers, software and grid capacity. However, every charging installation starts with a foundation.

Traditional concrete foundations can introduce delays through excavation, heavy lifting, curing time, weather dependency and transport logistics. These installation challenges slow deployment, increase costs and add unnecessary carbon emissions.

EV Kube was designed to rethink this process.

Manufactured from high-strength, non-conductive BMC composite, EV Kube replaces conventional concrete foundations with a lightweight, modular ground anchor that can often be courier delivered and assembled on site by a single installer. Its stackable design, integrated cable routing and compatibility with both AC/DC charging posts and payment terminals make it suitable for projects ranging from individual installations to nationwide rollouts.

EV Kube's Standout Innovation Advantages

What impressed the judges?

The judging process was conducted independently, and while detailed scoring isn't available, the judges shared the following feedback:

The judges were impressed by the innovation and potential of EV Kube, recognising it as a practical solution to an important challenge within EV infrastructure.

They also highlighted:

  • EV Kube's strong engineering foundations and credible testing.
  • Its ability to remove barriers that slow EV charger deployment.
  • Significant opportunities for market growth and national scalability.
  • Strong potential for strategic partnerships across the EV sector.
  • A genuine solution to a real industry problem with clear commercial potential.

One comment particularly captured what EV Kube is designed to achieve:

EV Kube is a really practical innovation with huge potential, solving a less obvious but important barrier in EV charger rollout.

That perfectly reflects our vision. Innovation isn't always about making chargers faster; it can also be about removing the hidden bottlenecks that prevent infrastructure from being installed efficiently.

Built for Installers. Designed for the Future.

What barriers does the EV Kube solve?

EV Kube was developed to simplify EV infrastructure installation while delivering long-term performance and sustainability.

Faster

Eliminates wet concrete, curing delays and weather dependency, enabling quicker project delivery.

Safer

Lightweight modular panels support easier manual handling, while the inherently non-conductive composite construction enhances electrical safety.

Corrosion-proof

Manufactured from corrosion-proof composite materials that won't rust or crack like traditional concrete.

Ground stability

The engineered textured surface helps improve ground interaction, reducing the risk of movement caused by ground heave.

More sustainable

Reduces transport emissions through its flat-pack design, uses recyclable composite materials, and delivers a lower embodied carbon footprint than traditional concrete foundations.

More scalable

Available in three sizes and compatible with a wide range of EV charging posts, payment kiosks and supporting infrastructure.

The product has also undergone independent engineering validation by The University of Manchester, demonstrating its structural performance under a range of installation conditions and giving installers, infrastructure owners and asset operators greater confidence in long-term deployment.

Thank You to the Team

Winning the Most Innovative Tech Award is a fantastic milestone, but it's also recognition of everyone who has supported EV Kube's journey.

Thank you to the Hustle Awards, the independent judges, our customers, installation partners, distributors and everyone who has shared feedback throughout the product's development.

Your support continues to help us improve and push EV infrastructure forward.

This award isn't the finish line; it's another step towards making EV charging infrastructure smarter, faster and more sustainable.

We look forward to sharing what's next.
