Charge-M8 Partners with Nemiah to Develop cosmOS BMS Integration for AI-powered EV Infrastructure Management

Charge-M8 has entered a strategic agreement with Nemiah to co-develop a dedicated version of its cosmOS platform for Charge-M8 clients across the UK, EU, North America and Australasia.

This customised Smart Building Operating System will integrate Charge-M8’s multi-award-nominated Libra Dynamic Load Balancer, enabling EV load management to connect seamlessly with wider building management systems.

This collaboration combines Charge-M8’s expertise in advanced smart electric vehicle (EV) charging hardware and Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP)-based network integration. Nemiah offers real-time energy monitoring and Internet of Things (IoT)-driven building management technology. The joint system will enable a seamless connection between EV charging demand, building-level energy consumption, and data-driven operational decision-making.

The Charge-M8 Libra DLB will continue serving as the core EV load-management device. By integrating cosmOS with the Libra, Charge-M8 expands EV load balancing into a broader building intelligence environment. cosmOS, which recently won the GM LINK innovation programme, provides real-time monitoring of energy use, carbon emissions, and building performance, using IoT sensors and integrations with existing systems to capture highly detailed data. This integration makes EV-charging activity part of a unified energy management ecosystem, allowing clients to view and analyse their building and charging assets with the help of AI-powered automation, problem detection and optimisation.

Deployment of the joint system will commence across Charge-M8’s commercial markets in the UK and EU, North America, and Australasia, where the company already supports major automotive and enterprise clients, including Rolls-Royce, Volkswagen Group, and various motor dealership groups representing premium brands including Audi, JLR and BYD.

Julian Smith, Founder and Managing Director at Charge-M8, said: “Integrating Libra with cosmOS combines intelligent load balancing and real-time building insights. Clients get a clearer view of site operations and the tools to maximise efficiency, resilience, and carbon reduction.”

Steven Tomlinson, CEO of Nemiah, commented: “cosmOS is one of the most forward-thinking building-management platforms in the UK. Working with Charge-M8 lets us extend this capability into EV-infrastructure management and opens opportunities to export our cosmOS solution which is extremely exciting for the Nemiah team. It brings buildings and charging systems together within one intelligent operating system.”
